GTBets Sportsbook

Review By Dev Ops

One of the most remarkable names in the offshore industry in the past few years is GTBets Sportsbook. The company has become a key player in today’s US online sports betting market and has a wide selection of NFL markets and competitive odds. GTBets offers bettors unique perks for simply being a client and has some of the highest deposit bonus offers on the web.

why we love em

  • prosRuns cool NFL promotions
  • prosRelatively quick cashout times
  • prosChoice of signup bonuses

Why we hate em

  • consNot available in Louisiana, Maryland, Missouri, New York State, Oregon, and Washington State.

GTBets originally opened their doors in 2011. The company has rebranded itself after picking up the pieces from the VIP Sports and BetGameday sportsbook debacles. GTBets have made over $40,000 in payments to former VIP Sports clients. Though the software and interface are similar to VIP Sports, the team at GTBets has pleaded with bettors to judge them by their actions moving forward and treat them as a separate entity from VIP Sports. So far, I have liked what I’ve seen from this company. They pay out quickly, have sizeable bonuses and impressive betting software.

GTBets is located in Curacao and offers players an online casino and racebook in addition to their online sportsbook offerings. As of 2012, the company has a mobile client for betting sports and playing casino games.

GTBets does not offer 24 hour support like many other online bookmakers, but they have a responsive team that almost always get back to bettors within one business day and usually much faster. Live chat support is a plus at every sportsbook, and they do not disappoint there. They also offer toll free phone support and via email.

Fast, Free Deposits and Withdrawals

GTBets are one of the best sportsbooks for credit card deposits. Bettors can deposit via MasterCard and VISA with an astounding success rate compared to other online sportsbooks. Bettors must deposit a $35 minimum via credit card with the maximum amount dependent on player status level and card limits.

Other methods are Direct Cash and Quick Cash. These are fancier names for Western Union and MoneyGram transfers. These can be sent at thousands of locations across the country and are used by millions around the world as an effective way to transfer cash. You will need to contact support and follow their instructions to deposit using this method.

GTBets will reimburse players for all fees incurred sending these transactions if they deposit $200 or more. The minimum deposit is $100 per transaction, and the maximum amount is $850. These will take a few hours to process during business hours and the funds will be created to your account as quickly as possible.

Unlike many other sportsbooks, GTBets does not offer their customers a free withdrawal per month. This is a bit of negative, but the sportsbook does process withdrawals rather quickly and has a higher maximum withdrawals than other books.

Bank wires are the most popular method available. They come with flat $60 fee and have a minimum payout amount of $100 and a max of $7,000. Western Union and MoneyGram can also be used for withdrawals. These come with a minimum fee of $50 or 8 percent of the total amount. However, the minimum amount a player can request for withdrawal is $300, and the max is $1,000.

GTBets has a strong focus on the NFL and has a nice collection of betting markets, along with live betting options. Aside from sides, totals, quarters and halftime bets, the list of future available extends not only to Super Bowl and AFC & NFC Championship odds, but unique markets such as “Which NFL Coach will be fired first?” and Rookie of the Year futures. Player and team props are available during game days, as well. Though they don’t have the vast prop betting markets that other major online sportsbooks have available.

GTBets also has live betting options for high profile games, which cover every Sunday & Monday Night game and other top match ups. Their live betting interface is impressive and one of the better pieces of software in the US market.

Bettors can also bet from anywhere in the world via GTBets’ mobile sportsbook. I’ve used just about every mobile betting option in the US market, and I can say with confidence that GTBets has one of the best clients/interfaces around. You can do just everything via their mobile site, like betting on all available markets, including live betting. Players can also deposit and withdraw, view pending bets and history, and wager at a mobile casino.

Bet Types

The basic drop down menu when placing a wager at GTBets’ NFL markets will consist of just a few options, straight wagers on sides and totals, parlays, teasers and if-bets or round robins. I guess that is one knock on the sportsbook, in that it doesn’t have a long list of alternative or lesser known markets that some bettors might crave.

Nevertheless, they offer some unique bet types, such as 3-point NFL teasers. Normal teasers range from 6 points all the way up to 13 points. They also have monster teasers, which are also known as sweetheart teasers.

NFL Odds

GTBets aren’t world beaters when it comes to offering competitive odds, but the book certainly has some betting opportunities for savvy sports bettors as it is heavily geared toward recreational bettors. Bettors may be able to find off-market lines at GTBets and may be able to catch the book with their proverbial “pants down.” Still, if you become a consistent winner at GTBets, you are certainly at risk of your betting limits being lowered substantially.

With that said, betting limits are relatively high for a primarily recreational online sportsbook. The book accepts up to $5,000 on NFL sides and up to $2,000 on NFL totals. Their total limits are lower across the board, which is understandable because this can be a weak spot for many offshore operators and can leave them vulnerable to sharps.

Overall, their parlay and teaser odds are accurate among the industry standard. There aren’t ripping bettors off with these markets, but they aren’t giving them advantageous odds compared to other books either.

Other Markets

GTBets is heavily American focused and offers a large selection of props, futures and more common bets such as teasers and parlays on all foremost professional sports, along with college football and basketball. Other sports available for betting include Canadian football, soccer, boxing and mixed martial arts.

Before we get into the deposit and reload bonuses offered at GTBets, I first want to go over one of the coolest promotions in online sports betting. Before the season starts, bettors can choose their favorite NFL team and will gain a free extra half point on every side wager throughout the season on the selected team. This promotion is available no matter what number the odds are at, even key numbers for oddsmakers, such as -3 or +3.

If instance, if your favorite team is the Pittsburgh Steelers, say the Steelers are favored by 3 points in an upcoming game. This -3 line would then become -2.5 for you and best of all – it would be absolutely free of charge. Once you choose your favorite team for the season, the lines are highlighted on the betting menu making it easy to take advantage of this promotion.

GTBets offers two deposit bonus options to new accounts. One is a 100% Deposit Bonus up to $150, and the other is a 50% Deposit Bonus up to $500. It is gratifying that they have two options for deposit bonuses, one of which caters to smaller bettors. Their 10x rollover requirement is quite high compared to other sportsbooks, but then again, not many books are offering $500 deposit bonuses.

Reload bonuses are also offered on every deposit if you meet the qualifications located on GTBets’ page. In addition, GTBets offers a rewards programs for all casino and sports betting play. Players can earn extra betting cash, be entered free into sweepstakes, purchase luxury items and GTBets merchandise with their points.

GTBets is not among the most trusted books online, at least not yet. So far, they’ve made quite an impression on the industry in just a short time and are flying up the rankings as a top online sportsbook. Their main focus is NFL markets, which makes them an excellent choice for gridiron bettors. The up to $500 Deposit Bonus is a great boost of cash to add to your starting bankroll and the comprehensive inventory of promotions always makes things exciting. It is rare that I get behind a newer online sportsbook, but I have to tell you I’m seriously liking what I see from GTBets so far.
